After a brief investigation, police arrested 42-year-old Rodney Reese, on Wednesday, when he arrived at a designated location where he thought he was meeting a 14-year-old female.

A former Leeds Middle School teacher was arrested Wednesday after authorities said she was sexting a 14-year-old male student.

Ashley Casiday, 31, turned herself into the St. Clair County Jail Wednesday morning. She is charged with one count of transmitting obscene material to a child, said St. Clair County District Attorney Richard Minor.  She is out of jail after posting $100,000 bond.

“For the community and parents, I suggest they follow a deliberate, structured approach to address the issues that poor use of technology can create,” Price said. “On our website, whoswatchingalabama.org, we provide a number of online resources.”

Among those resources is a framework called ADMIT, which offers simple steps that foster a safe computing environment for everyone, especially children.

“We designed the ADMIT framework as a tool to assist parents, guardians, and others with these challenging events,” he said.

Students are writing things ranging from what’s being served in the dining halls to hurtful comments calling out students. The majority of the posts use profanity. University police say they are aware of it.

Crystal Gilliland Clowdus, 32, entered her plea at a 1:30 p.m. hearing at the Blount County Courthouse. She pleaded guilty to transmitting obscene material to a minor, said Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey.
