A 23-year-old Semmes man who used Facebook to meet at least two Baldwin County teens now faces two counts of second-degree rape, according to police.

Ryan Joseph Gray was arrested Tuesday after officials at a Daphne school alerted police to improper material found on a 13-year-old student’s school-issued MacBook laptop, according to Cpl. Jason Vannoy.

An Opp man was arrested Thursday morning on charges of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old.

After an alert from the Department of Human Resources that something was happening to the victim, Opp Police Department investigators arrested 57-year-old Timmy Wayne Norris.

The incident happened within the city limits, and the victim was a young female with whom Norris was familiar, according to OPD Chief Mike McDonald.

A Hueytown man is in custody on nearly $1 million bond after authorities say he sexually abused three young boys under the age of 12.

Jason Tobias Kreider, 33, preyed on children whose families he befriended, authorities said. Investigators learned he would tell the children that if they told anyone, they would be placed in DHR custody and taken from their loved ones.

The Hartford Police Department is working along side Perverted Justice, a non profit organization, to catch online sex predators before they strike.

“Basically when they start talking or texting with someone on a website, and it turns sexually explicit or goes into the predator wanting to have sex or meet the child for sex, they will contact us,” said Lt. Tim Goad.

Two Destrehan High School teachers accused of having group sex with a student have posted $7,000 cash bonds and been released from custody.

Kenner police Sgt. Brian McGregor says 32-year-old Shelly Dufresne and 24-year-old Rachel Respess left the Jefferson Parish jail early Thursday. They are accused of having sex with a 16-year-old boy at Respess’ Kenner apartment.
