A former Birmingham police officer is fighting to get his job back after he was caught sexting on the job.
Former officer Jason Yarbrough admits he texted explicit photos of himself to a woman. He was fired in January after an internal investigation.
“He’s very sorry he did that. It had nothing to do with his ability to be a police officer,” Yarbrough’s attorney Scott Morro says.
Morro filed an appeal in Jefferson County Circuit Court fighting his client’s termination from the Birmingham Police Department.

The juvenile’s parents filed a complaint with the sheriff’s office on Wednesday after becoming suspicious of inappropriate contact between their son and Holt. Sheriff Mike Blakely said Holt confessed to investigators.
According to the sheriff’s office, Holt met the teen when she was his substitute teacher last year at Clements High School. Limestone County Schools Superintendent Thomas Sisk said Holt filled in for four days during that time. Authorities said the woman ran into the 15-year-old at a local department store and began communicating after that. They said there is no evidence that any crime took place while school was in session.

David and Rebecca Hubbard are each charged with a school employee having sexual contact with a student under the age of 19 and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Hartford police made their second arrest within a three-day period as part of an ongoing child solicitation investigation called Operation Guardian Angel.
Assistant Hartford Police Chief Ben Berry said police arrested Jabier Martinez, 26, of Dothan, Friday night, and charged him with two sexual assault-related felony charges.

An industry professional in the picture-taking business wants everyone who uses Facebook to be aware that an unknown person is trying to lure young ladies with a pitch that he will pay them to do a photo shoot.
But according to well-known Columbus photographer, John Pyle, all signs point to this being a completely fake enterprise.
Pyle has a studio on Broadway and he does a lot of shoots for high school seniors.
It recently came to his attention that someone using the name Rhonda Howard has been active on Facebook trying to convince young girls to agree to have their picture taken with promises of money.
Usually, money changes hands in the other direction.
But what concerns Pyle the most is that this person is using him as a reference, yet he’s never heard of them before.

An Alabama man who wore an Uncle Sam top hat while recording a video threatening President Barack Obama’s life was arrested yesterday by Secret Service agents.
Deryke Pfeifer, 54, was busted on a felony complaint charging him with making threats against the president. Pfeifer is locked up in advance of a hearing at which prosecutors will argue that he should be detained in advance of a criminal trial.
Federal agents allege that Pfeifer has threatened Obama’s life in a series of videos posted to his Facebook page, as well as in calls to the Federal Protective Service, which provides security for government facilities.

Tables is said to be a family friend and is charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for allowing those under 21 to consume alcohol. The charges against her are misdemeanors.

Dale County Sheriff’s Capt. Mason Bynum said deputies are looking for 50-year-old Billy Wayne Lomaneck.
“He is wanted for rape first and incest,” Bynum said. “We do have active warrants for him.”
Bynum said deputies have been looking for Lomaneck since Thursday when they obtained the warrants for his arrest. Bynum said the victim of the sexual related crime offenses was a female juvenile.
