Fairfax County Commonwealth’s attorney Ray Morrogh told the Washington Post that there needs to be a balance in these situations between labeling teens with sex charges and considering the impact on victims of the distributed image.

James Raymond Troxell, 33, of Brandi Lane in Ozark, pleaded guilty to two counts of child pornography and was sentenced to serve 18 months in prison. Dale County District Attorney Kirke Adams said Troxell is also expected to register as a sex offender.

60-year-old Myron Joe Sizemore of Muscle Shoals was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of pornographic material.

Police said Sizemore was indicted in September after emergency responders found the pornography in his home on August 3.

Christopher Patrick Gunn was indicted Thursday by a federal grand jury in Montgomery with two counts of production of child pornography, three counts of interstate extortion, and three counts of using a facility of interstate commerce in furtherance of unlawful activity.

Those indictments are in addition to the two counts of possession of child pornography with which he had already been charged, U.S. Attorney George L. Beck, Jr., explained.

According to chilling court documents, Richard Leon Finkbiner, 39, befriended the boys online and enticed them into uploading the explicit material. He then threatened to show it to friends or family if they wouldn’t upload more. Worse, evidence on Finkbiner’s computer suggests “several hundred” other victims of roughly the same age.
