On Friday the Europe vs Facebook privacy campaign group kicked off a new legal initiative targeting Facebook – in the form of a class action lawsuit that’s inviting adult non-commercial Facebook users located anywhere outside the US and Canada to join in.

Today, the group told TechCrunch its civil action has pulled in some 11,000 participants so far, in the first weekend since launch. The largest proportion of participants (about 50%) are currently coming from German-speaking countries, followed by “high number” from the Netherlands, Finland and the UK.

“Reasonable numbers come from all European countries and South America,” added a Europe vs Facebook spokesperson.

Daisey Schumer tells KFVS-TV that she was lit on fire after someone poured perfume on her.

“This person poured the perfume on my stomach and then I told her to stop. Then she lit the lighter and I was rolling on the ground, trying to get it out and it burned my back,” Daisey told KFVS.

Daisey and her friend, Danielle Carter, said they saw “fire challenge” videos before on Facebook and YouTube.

Photographs “that depict the true face of plaintiff” were altered with Photoshop and “attached to false, phony, naked body shots, and at least one pose where there is plaintiff in a graphic pornographic-like photo,” states the complaint, which was filed on July 25 in Harris County.

That helped it bring in 62% of its ad revenue from mobile. In total, Facebook now has 1.32 billion monthly users and 829 million daily users, or 63% of users returning each day. It beat Wall Street’s estimates of $2.81 billion in revenue and $0.32 EPS.
