A Gantt man isn’t laughing after being arrested as part of “Operation April Fools” after he allegedly used a computer to solicit and meet a boy for sex.

Friday, the Tallahassee Police Department released that 41-year-old David Hicks II was one of 20 arrested during the week of April 10-15 by the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force or ICAC.  The operation was aimed at predatory online solicitation of children for sex, said Tallahassee Police Chief Dennis Jones.

An Opp man, accused of enticing a 13-year-old boy and described as a “possible flight risk,” was jailed late Thursday by the Opp Police Department.

Sgt. Walter Inabinett with the OPD said the investigation began earlier in the day after 49-year-old Michael Eugene Zebarcki allegedly attempted to get the child, described as an “acquaintance,” to enter the basement of his home “for immoral purposes.”

Jonathan Lee, 29, of Ozark was taken into custody Thursday by Dale County Sheriff’s Deputies after setting up a location where he was to meet the minor.

A Dothan man faces Florida felony charges in connection to an undercover internet sex sting investigation dubbed Operation Riptide.

According to Ruth Corley, a spokesperson for the Bay County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, investigators arrested a dozen people as part of the operation, which included Antonio Emanuel. Investigators charged Emanuel, 21, of East Saunders Road, with traveling to meet a minor for sexual activity and soliciting a child via the internet.
