One new article link has been added to our Related News page. WAKA published an article titled Yik Yak Trend Concerns Some University Students.
Troy University students are flooding the free smartphone app Yik Yak. It uses location features to show comments near by. And people can post, like and share comments anonymously.
Students are writing things ranging from what’s being served in the dining halls to hurtful comments calling out students. The majority of the posts use profanity. University police say they are aware of it.

One new article link has been added to our Related News page. AL.com published an article titled Report: Former teacher gets 15 year sentence for sex with students.
The Anniston Star is reporting that former Cleburne County teacher Bronson Ward was sentenced in Calhoun County Circuit Court today to 15 years in prison.
Ward, 33, who was also a girls basketball coach, was arrested in September on five charges of having sex with students under the age of 19. Investigators said the acts involved two students, took place in Cleburne and Calhoun counties, and went back as far as 2009.

The incident first was made public Wednesday morning on the website TotalFratMove.com, which stated the TA in the math department had accidentally emailed nude photos of herself to students. The website also posted what it claims is a copy of the TA’s email, which reads: “Hi Class, I attach the solutions for number 76 and 78 in this email.”
According to TotalFratMove, which claims it has copies of the nude images, “The images are from a video chat that is quite sexual in nature. It appears that two people are ‘cyber-sexing’ from different locations using video equipment.”

NORTH HIGHLANDS (CBS13) — A child porn investigation is under way at Hillsdale Elementary School in North Highlands after students were found passing around an inappropriate photo of a female student.
After phone calls today, the Twin Rivers School District confirmed over the weekend that the naked photo of a sixth-grader had been sent electronically to some students. This week, other students passed it around.
